Sweet Will of God with God Leads Us Along

Description

Arranger Tracey Ann Biddle skillfully weaves together the two hymns, Sweet Will of God and God Lead Us Along. Written for SATB choir with piano and orchestra accompaniment, the choral part begins with the Soprano and Alto voices in unison singing the first verse of Sweet Will of God. The chorus features all voices in four-part harmony. The arrangement then modulates from B-flat major to the key of C major and the Tenor and Bass voices introduce the first verse of the hymn God Leads Us Along. The treble voices then sing fragments of Sweet Will of God interwoven with the second hymn tune. The piece then modulates to D major for the second verse of God Leads Us Along with all voices in unison.  A touching treatment of the chorus follows alternating between Treble and Bass voices. The arrangement then modulates back to C major for a grand statement of the chorus of Sweet Will of God after which the piece comes to a calm closing. This setting is suitable for student choirs and church choirs of limited experience as well as professional groups. The orchestra parts are suitable for intermediate to advanced players.
